With a degree in mechanical engineering, he’s not just a business mind but also a licensed pilot for helicopters, planes, and gliders. Mr Sanjay Ghodawat’s unstoppable determination and diverse expertise drive SGG’s impressive growth, solidifying his legacy as a trailblazing entrepreneur in the Indian business scene. In 1992, Mr Sanjay Ghodawat laid the foundation for SGG, embarking on a dynamic journey that swiftly transformed the group. Under his guidance, SGG ventured into a spectrum of high-value industries, including Aviation, Consumer Products, Education, Energy, Mining, Realty, Retail, and Textiles. Today, SGG is like a big family with over 10,000 dedicated team members. Our goal is simple but ambitious: to become the best, the biggest, and the most valuable conglomerate.
In August 2023, Mr Sanjay Ghodawat’s remarkable journey achieved significant milestones, receiving the HDFC Lifetime Achievement Award for his impactful contributions to the business landscape. The same year, he was honoured with the Philanthropist Award by the Governor of Maharashtra, showcasing his dedication to both business and social impact.
Beyond industries, Mr Ghodawat’s visionary endeavours led to the creation of “Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU)” in 2009. Its excellence, acknowledged by WCRC and KPMG, India, adds further recognition to its remarkable standing.

Mr. Sanjay Ghodawat’s caring actions define him. He received the ‘Global Philanthropist of the Year 2021’ award for his strong dedication to making a positive impact. From aiding soldier martyrs’ families and supporting draught-affected farmers, to providing assistance during the pandemic and natural disasters, he has also set up a school for the blind in Miraj. Under his guidance, the Sanjay Ghodawat Foundation oversees the ‘Shri Acharya Tulsi Blood Bank’ and ‘Mauli Care Centre’ (Old Age Home).
